The 2016 Red Cat Jazz Festival “Mother’s Day Weekend” Moody Gardens, May 5 – 8, 2016. What an exceptional way to kick off Mother’s Day Weekend in melodic style featuring Kyle Turner, Marion Meadows, Michael Ward and Andre’ James.
Kyle Turner, a creative and innovative artist, He is also extremely active in promoting jazz and creating opportunities for jazz musicians in the Houston area. He has been extremely active as a music educator and lecturer in the Houston Independent School District and as an Artist-in-Residence at Texas Southern University.
Marion Meadows is probably one of the coolest saxophonists I think I’ve ever seen perform. He walks out onto the stage so chilled out about the whole thing, soprano saxophone in hand, deadlocks flowing and his sunglasses on his face.
Michael Ward has toured many foreign countries and all over the U.S. He has worked with many well-known musicians and played many of the world’s finest venues. His music has touched the hearts of many and has gained him the respect of his peers around the world. His fans grow in numbers after each of his performances, as does his love for his Violin and music, and his gratitude for the gifts that life has brought him.
